I so want to be where it is warm! Yesterday we were supposed to get a “dusting” of snow. Instead we were blessed with about six inches of the white stuff! I was out early in the morning and was going to go into DC to take photos, but the weather had other plans for me. I decided to stay close to home and visited Little Bennett Regional Park in Clarksburg, MD. When I arrived the snow was just coming down. However, 40 minutes later it was starting to get very heavy and bitter cold. The temperature was a high of 20 degrees but felt like 6 degrees. This week I have two black and white selections and two in color.
The first was taken near the boat ramp. This lone tree coming out of the water against the lake looks so stark. The white specs you see are snow flakes.

By the time this photo was taken, the snow was really coming down. I like the curve of the path leading to the dock and that there are no foot prints visible.

I walked to the edge of the water near the dock and was taken various photos of the dock and reflections on the water when I spotted this branch encased in the ice under the dock. I played with the settings on the camera and wanted to see how clearly I could capture the branch. This is the result.

On my way out of the park, I came across this flock of Canadian Geese taking a stroll. It made me smile.

The geese make me smile too.l

Hey, you didn’t tell me you had a blog. Cool..I’ll add you to my blogroll.
Enjoy the snow! I still got a couple of months of it before we see grass again. 🙂

Scott, thanks! As soon as I figure out how to add a listing of my favorite photo blogs, I will add yours. I’m still learning how all this behind the scenes blog stuff works. Stay warm!

Beautiful pictures again, Linda! I still lean towards the black and white photos being my favorites – I think it’s because they almost take me to a place I shouldn’t be or something, or maybe they are just so tranquil…it’s difficult to describe. Thanks again for the beauty.
